ABOUT US

Four generations of New Zealanders striving to be the best in the world.
The oldest family-owned textile company in the southern hemisphere.

Based in Motueka, New Zealand, our team are renowned internationally for quality, innovation and design. The family business has been producing and servicing textile products since 1898, starting as a saddlery and moving into canvas making and fabrication and now have a variety of products using the latest technology in fabrics.

Coppins have produced picking buckets for a century. Our current product is the award winning Coppo picking bucket that is used by the majority of kiwifruit growers in New Zealand and now being exported internationally.

With ground-breaking designs across several other product ranges including sea anchors and hot houses, we have won both international and local awards and recognition. The Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), based in Roseville Minnesota USA, described our success as 'defying design boundaries to produce unique, innovative and functional products.’

Learning to adapt to the changing markets and finding a niche is a key part of the business. The latest innovations from the design and fabrication team include protective equipment for personal use such as the Protector Series Face Shield and large scale screens and barriers for production operations such as fruit pack houses. With the spread of the Covid-19 virus comes new challenges to keep people and products safe. The Protector Series barrier technology allows people to work in an approved safe and secure environment, reducing the likelihood of virus transmission.
